Greek Houses
The most common building in any Greek city was of course the house. They were built with mud bricks on top of small stones and covered in plaster. They usually consisted of four to six rooms, which was the average house. A courtyard was built in the middle and the rooms were to be faced to the courtyard to get light from it and into there rooms. they didn't have plate glass windows like we do, they did not build them towards the street, they built them facing the courtyard form risking burglars, and the outside elements. They did not have a well in there house but maybe in the middle of their courtyard. If they did not have that they would have to get water form the public water fountain, pretty nasty.
Greek Temples
Probably the most impressive building on ancient Greece was the temple. Each one built was usually to honor a god or goddess. There covered in sculptures and were painted in blue and or red. The sculptures on the front or on the temple were usually depicted in myths to show the importance of the god or goddess
The Agora
Another important space in the greek cities. The focus for it was for political, economic and social activity. The space was also used for a market to buy or sell goods, pretty cool how that space does a lot for the greeks. The held meetings there once in awhile, and was a good social and political place and also got their water there sometimes.
